When looking at the dollars, it’s easy to view some positions within a business as more valuable than others. The problem with this thought process is that we start to label other roles as less valuable and the employees within those roles as disposable.

The reality is that every position within your business provides value. If it doesn’t, why does the role exist? Why are those tasks even being done?

One of the problems with the “value ranking” of positions is that your most dedicated employees can often hide in the shadows. They are the ones that are always there, never miss a deadline, and are really the backbone of the org, but because they are not client-facing or revenue-generating, they become more and more unnoticed as your team begins to grow.
